In the spirit of Mitchell Chepokas, a boy from Chanhassen, Minnesota, whose life was cut short by cancer at the age of 9, The Miracles of Mitch Foundation was formed.
Mitch was a pretty amazing kid in many ways and he is fondly remembered by so many because although he knew that cancer would take his life, he looked beyond himself, and saw that other kids on the hospital ward and their families needed serious help. In fact, in spite of his condition, Mitch felt that he was lucky! He had loving and caring parents, Steve and Becky, and an older sister, Melissa; he also had lots of friends and family to visit him and shower him with love, time, and gifts. Even at 9 years of age and in spite of his diagnosis, Mitch wanted to help these other children so much that he made his dad pinkie-swear to help the families of kids with cancer next year when he'd be gone. Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has maintained Mitchell Chepokas' vision with a clear and simple mission:

Support is a simple word with many meanings.
Steve, Becky and Melissa Chepokas have created a safety net and tangible resource for the various needs of the families of these special children. MOMF provides rapid assistance (typically checks are cut within 48 hours of grant approval) to families so that they can focus on their child and spend precious time together as a family.

- Home Rescue Team
- MiracleKids Kamp
- Counseling and grief support and guidance
